Bola Ahmed Tinubu former governor of Lagos is popular known as Jagaban in the political circle and on the streets.

Some people don't know that the full title is "Jagaban Borgu." Or "Ja a gabar borgu”.

It means "The Leader of Borgu Land."

It's a cheiftaincy title bestowed on him by his friend and fellow former Senator, Emir of Borgu, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Haliru Dantoro III.

Borgu is a town in Niger State, Northern Nigeria.

While the name became so prominent only few years ago through music popular culture, Tinubu and his wife had been bestowed the titles since 26th February 2006. While he was turbaned the Jagaban of Borgu, his was turbaned Yun Bana Jagaban of Borgu. In other words, not only Tinubu is Jagaban, his wife is also Jagaban.
