Here are some cool facts about the late president. *Yar’Adua came from an elite politically-connected family. But Umaru Musa Yar'adua isn't guilty of that sin. He is the first Nigerian President to reduce the price of fuel. In June 2007, his administration reduced the pump price of petrol from N75 to N65. *Though the refineries aren't working, if it wasn't for Umaru Musa Yar'adua, Nigeria would have no refineries today. Yar'adua reversed the sale of national refineries to private investors. *On matters of integrity, Umaru Musa Yar'adua set a standard that no Nigerian president has met till today, by publicly declaring his assets and liabilities, including those of his close family members. *He also stopped the protracted conflicts in Niger Delta by cutting various amnesty deals with the region. The deals brought peace in the region— a type of peace that two administrations after him enjoyed till today.
